Will Ownerless Lights Pose a Threat to LED Panels
October 20, 2022
With the advancement of time and changes in consumer demand, the era of "one light illuminating the whole space" is long gone. Lighting design has entered a stage of refinement. At this time, the concept of "ownerless lighting" has emerged. Its characteristics, such as simplicity, generosity, and neatness, have made it widely favoured by markets, but this has also sparked controversy. What is the market performance of "ownerless lights"? Will the emergence of ownerless light squeeze out the market share of LED panels? We want to share our thoughts as an LED Panel practitioner.
1. With today's minimalism and fashion trends, many people choose lighting designs without LED panels. However, the LED panel status in commercial and home lighting still remains significant, as it plays an essential role in both settings and is also considered part of the soft furnishings in both environments.
2. In traditional lighting design, we typically use the "LED panel + auxiliary light" method, which remains the primary approach. Combining the main and auxiliary lights can add more ambient lighting while ensuring the space's brightness. Due to the features of LED panels, it remains an appealing choice for customers as the main light source.
3." With the LED panel" and "without the LED panel" may seem like two different consumption concepts, but they are very similar. "Ownerless light" should not be interpreted as simply lacking or abandoning an LED panel. Nor should it be understood as replacing LED panels with a few downlights or spotlights. To be exact, the design style without the LED panel means that the panel light is no longer the primary lighting source in certain spaces. Based on the primary light, supplementary lighting complements LED panels, creating a more atmospheric and layered overall space.
4. Besides providing illumination, it should contribute to the space's decoration. People choose LED panels for their space based on the environment, and it often serves as the finishing touch for the entire area.
5. Companies can conduct precise product positioning for lighting products based on the diverse needs of various consumer groups. Lighting companies can develop simple styles of products that younger markets prefer based on the original products, but we should not abandon the existing style. Nowadays, customers who choose LED panels still use them in offices, schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings. Therefore, lighting companies must maintain the original style while also developing new products based on this demand.
Furthermore, the decline in LED panels factories' and dealers' business is not solely due to "ownerless lights." Instead, it results from certain lighting products failing to meet market standards and an increase in similar products and services, leading to intense competition and ultimately decreasing business. The proper design style without primary lighting is more strict and intricate. Most spaces still use the LED panels. Only by using appropriate lighting can a better atmosphere be created in different spaces. The demand in the LED panel light market is still huge. We must have firm confidence in the lighting industry.
